Information Nights Across Plain Local Schools
As we look ahead to the 2026–2027 school year, this season is all about planning, transition, and helping students and families feel confident about what comes next. Plain Local Schools is hosting a series of Information Nights designed to give families clear, timely information and a chance to connect directly with staff at each building. Each event follows a similar format and focuses on the next step in your student’s educational journey.
GlenOak High School Academic Planning Night
- Who: Students entering grades 10–12 during the 2026-2027 school year and their families
- What: An overview of the scheduling process, timelines, and programs, including College Credit Plus, Advanced Placement, International Baccalaureate, Career Tech, and graduation requirements
- When: Academic Planning Night: February 12, 2026, 5:30–7:30 PM
- PLUS-FAFSA Help Session for Seniors: February 12, 2026, 4:00–6:30 PM AND Career Tech Open House from 6:00pm-7:00pm
- Where: GlenOak High School
- Park in the upper parking lot and enter through Door 17. Teachers and administrators will be available to guide families through sessions and answer questions.
College-bound seniors and their families are encouraged to attend the FAFSA Help Session, where counselors will provide hands-on support with completing the Free Application for Federal Student Aid.

GlenOak Freshmen Information Night
- Who: Incoming freshmen (current 8th-grade students), and their families
- What: An introduction to GlenOak High School, including classes, programs, activities, and the scheduling process
- When: March 12, 2026 5:30–6:30 PM: Students with last names A–L (and new out of district enrollees) and 6:30–7:30 PM: Students with last names M–Z
- Where: GlenOak High School, 1801 Schneider Street NE, Canton, Ohio 44721
Park in the upper-level student parking lot and enter through Door 17. Volunteers will be on-site to help guide families.

Oakwood Information Night
- Who: Incoming 7th grade students,(current 6th grade students), and their families
- What: A presentation on scheduling and student opportunities, followed by a self-guided tour and time to meet teachers, counselors, coaches, and activity sponsors
- When: Tuesday, March 3, 2026 5:30–6:30 PM: Students with last names A–L and 7:00–8:00 PM: Students with last names M–Z
- Where: Oakwood Middle School, 2300 Schneider Street NE, Canton, Ohio 44721
Guests should park in the staff parking lot and enter through the main entrance. Volunteers will be available to assist.

Glenwood Information Night
- Who: Incoming 5th grade students, (current 4th grade students), and their families
- What: An informational evening focused on scheduling, meeting teachers, touring the building, and learning about activities and opportunities from current students.
- When: March 17, 2026 5:30–6:30 PM: Students with last names A–L and 7:00–8:00 PM: Students with last names M–Z
- Where: Glenwood Intermediate School, 1015 44th Street NW, Canton, Ohio 44709
Guests should park in the staff parking lot and enter through the main entrance. Volunteers will be on-site to guide families.
